The modern information environment rewards what can survive distribution. That is not the same thing as rewarding what survives examination.
An idea can become familiar because it is true, because it is useful, because it is profitable to repeat, or simply because the machinery around it is strong enough.
IDEAS treats claims as structures. What does the claim depend on? What would change it? What mechanism would have to exist for it to work? What evidence would distinguish the explanation from its nearest alternatives?
The goal is not permanent skepticism. It is better calibration.
